Aluminum Tube Type OPGW

Aluminum Tube Type OPGW

OPGW (optical ground cable) is preferred for its central aluminum tube and color-coded fiber optic tubes that simplify the splicing process, providing optimum protection of the fibers, as well as long-term product reliability.
The OPGW cable design is constructed of a fiber optic core with multiple subunits depending on the fiber count) encased in a hermetically sealed hardened aluminum tube with a cover of one or more layers of steel and / or alloy wires. The installation is very similar to the process used to install the conductors, although care must be taken to use the appropriate pulley size so as not to cause damage or crush the cable. After installation, when the cable is ready to be spliced, the wires are cut exposing the central aluminum tube that can be easily cut with a pipe cutting tool. Color-coded subunits are preferred by most users because they make the preparation of the junction box very simple.
Main Features:
Increases and optimizes electrical performances (low current and lightning).
Resistant to electrical chemical corrosion.
Resistant to traction.
Greater resistance to vibration.
Heat insulation (high and low temperatures).
