Optical Fiber Composite Ground Wire (OPGW)
It is designed to replace traditional static / shield / ground cables in overhead transmission lines with the added benefit of containing optical fibers that can be used for telecommunication purposes.
The optical ground wire (OPGW) is a double-acting cable. It is designed to replace traditional static / shield / ground cables in overhead transmission lines with the added benefit of containing optical fibers that can be used for telecommunication purposes. OPGW must be able to withstand the mechanical stresses applied to aerial cables by environmental factors such as wind and ice. OPGW must also be able to handle electrical defects in the transmission line by providing a ground path without damaging the sensitive optical fibers inside the cable.
Main Features:
Tensile strength
Optimum balance of mechanical and electrical performance
High quality of transmission, communication and reliability
Adaptable for optical cable communication systems
